
Health Guarantee
What is Covered?
Walnut Creek Farms provides a one year health guarantee against life-threatening health issues valid until the puppy’s first birthday. Buyers agree to take their puppy to a licensed veterinarian of their choice within 72 business hours of delivery to have the puppy examined and screened for potentially fatal viruses such as Distemper, Parvo, and Corona. If an illnesses is documented in writing by a licensed vet within 72 business hours and indicates that at the time of sale, the puppy was unfit for purchase due to life threatening illness, disease, or congenital defect, we will offer a full refund or a replacement puppy subject to availability and/or preference. (Please note: Our guarantee does not cover against Coccidia and/or Kennel Cough, which are typically self-limiting and are not considered life threatening)
Limitations
Scope of Guarantee
We do not guarantee eye color, adult size, conformation, reproductive ability, testicles descending, retained teeth, personality, potty training ability, proper bite, coat quality, hernias of any kind, or temperament of the puppy. Our guarantee does not cover common conditions and is limited only to defects largely considered life threatening. Walnut Creek Farms is not responsible for any veterinarian bills incurred once the puppy is delivered, the Buyer assumes all responsibility for the puppy. Buyer understands that adult sizes are an estimate only and based on our experience. Our guarantee does not cover any veterinarian costs associated with spaying or neutering, including undescended testes. We do not warrant against any condition caused by carelessness, negligence or abuse.
Genetics
Our Approach
Our health guarantee covers any puppy purchased from Walnut Creek Farms that shows a life threatening hereditary defect by 12 months of age. Dogs older than 12 months are not covered under our guarantee. If a life threatening condition is discovered and documented within a year of purchase, the Buyer may keep their original puppy and/or also receive a replacement puppy. If the puppy is found to have a life threatening hereditary condition that requires the dog to be euthanized, documentation by the Buyer’s veterinarian must be provided to Walnut Creek Farms and must show a serious untreatable medical issue to warrant the dog to be euthanized. We will offer a full refund or a replacement puppy subject to availability and/or preference.
Buyers Responsibility
Your Promise
Buyers agree to provide a life-long commitment to responsibility raising the Berner, including a comfortable and safe environment, prompt medical attention, proper grooming and generally responsible care. This includes but is not limited to keeping the puppy parasite free and up to date with vaccines, providing adequate and proper nutrition, access to fresh water at all times, and teeth cleanings as needed to ensure longevity of life. Buyers also promise to provide a safe environment for the puppy and never allow it to roam freely without proper fencing or supervision.
